Hi all
Arrived in London on Friday 4th at around 1.30pm. By the time we got through customs, collected our luggage and took the tube into Earls Court where we are staying, it was well after 5pm. We had a meal, showered and fell into bed.
We woke to a very bleak wet London day and as Emily is struggling with these overnight flights we had a quiet day in.
The following day was no better but we ventured out for a walk through Earls Court and Kensington to see what we could and to stretch our legs.
Today was a beautiful sunny morning and as we were taking a tour through London on one of the many Hop on-Hop off buses we were very happy. The sun was not to last though and before we knew it the clouds had emerged and the rain soon followed. We didn't let this dampen our spirits, but I do have to admit it was absolutely freezing on top of an open top double decker bus!!
We did have a great day though. I loved seeing all the history London has to offer and Emily's favourite thing was............the newly opened m&m's world at Piccadilly Circus! I'm afraid some of the historical sites didn't seem to have any appeal for her....Oh well, maybe in the years to come when she is studying some of these things this day will come to mind.
I must admit though that m&m world was very enticing for children.......4 whole floors of brightly coloured m&m merchandise like you wouldn't believe, anything you can imagine was there. And of course the walls and walls of every coloured m&m ever made were hard to resist. They even had a mixing lab where you could order your very own customised pack of m&m's....just crazy!
Our very first stop was Harrods. It is just amazing. I had to buy something so I could get a Harrods bag so I bought some Strawberry and Champagne jam to celebrate the Queens Jubilee year so next time I serve up some scones it will be extra special!!
